Watson & Son MGO 400+ Lozenges are manufactured using Manuka Honey containing at least 400 mg/kg of methylglyoxal. The amount of Methylglyoxal (MGO), a naturally occurring compound in Manuka Honey, is measured in milligrams per kilogram.

Manuka honey’s antibacterial properties are what set it apart from traditional honey. One of the major antibacterial components of Manuka honey is a compound called methylglyoxal (MGO). The higher the concentration of MGO, the stronger the antibacterial effect.
